Job Description

Sales Engineering is a critical component of the Visa Issuing Solutions business. Visa Issuing Solutions is a global and high-growth business unit within the Value-Added Services organization, a key contributor to VAS’s 20%+ YoY growth. Sales Engineering works within Issuing Solutions, helping clients stay ahead of changing consumer expectations for payments, while also managing their costs and growing revenue.

Sales Engineering achieves this by listening to client requirements and providing well-considered solutions based on Value-Added Services offerings. The Business Operations and Strategy Manager in Sales Engineering plays a vital role in the Issuing Solutions business unit by driving operational effectiveness and efficiencies and accelerating key initiatives.

This role reports to the Global Head of Sales Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Performance: Drive focus to improve the end-to-end health of the business. This role will work closely with regional leads to drive better outcomes toward their targets.

2. Operating Model: Establish a comprehensive Global Pre-sales end-to-end engagement framework. Develop Global Key Success Indicators (KSI) measures and reporting methodologies.

3. Operational Effectiveness: Review and refine the operational effectiveness of the global business, ensuring processes, tools, and reporting enable the most effective and efficient delivery of agreed services.

4. Knowledge Management: Define and implement a Global Knowledge Management process.

5. Capacity Planning: Develop and implement a standardized global capacity planning model to ensure consistent resource and capacity reporting across all regions.

6. Communications Strategy: Develop and execute a communications strategy for the Global Sales Engineering function to ensure all key stakeholders are aware of the value of the organization, services offered, and how to engage. This will include bi-annual Sales Engineering Global meetings, Leadership team meetings, and key communications to stakeholders in Issuing Solutions and VAS.

7. Lessons Learned Optimization: Develop and execute a program to review and improve the lessons learned and Technical Validation processes within Sales Engineering to ensure Sales Engineering is delivering optimum value to the business and global effectiveness.

8. New Initiative Leadership: Define and lead workstreams to accelerate priorities that arise within Sales Engineering.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site).

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD

1. High sense of accountability and self-motivation. Ability to self-direct and make recommendations to the team.

2. Critical thinking skills and willingness to challenge the status quo.

3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to take ownership of details when producing written deliverables to executives.

4. Ability to build strong relationships, collaborate with all levels, and influence without authority. Ability to drive cross-functional project teams of colleagues across multiple geographies and disciplines (in a matrix structure where none of the resources report directly to the manager).

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and applying these strategically.

6. Familiarity and experience with several operational tools such as MSD, Tableau, and others to enhance operational effectiveness.

7. Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles.

8. Team player. Able to communicate with technical and business experts at all levels of the organization.
