About the Role

We’re seeking an inspiring leader to take on the pivotal role of Manager, Finance Business Partnering. This is your opportunity to lead a high-performing Finance Business Partnering team within a major hospital setting. You’ll work closely with executive directors and general managers across clinical and non-clinical directorates, providing strategic support that drives both financial sustainability and long-term impact. In this influential role, you will:

  • Lead and empower a skilled team of finance business partners and analysts, delivering forward-thinking, strategic financial advice with a strong focus on collaboration and customer service
  • Continuously evolve and enhance the finance business partnering model to stay aligned with the organisation’s growing and changing needs
  • Build deep relationships with key stakeholders, gaining insight into core business drivers to deliver high-value, proactive solutions to emerging challenges

Your Contribution

  • Membership with CAANZ, CPA Australia, or an equivalent international accounting body
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, accounting, finance, business or law
  • Over 7 years of relevant experience, including senior-level exposure and direct engagement with executive leadership
  • Proven expertise in strategic and financial planning within complex, large-scale organisations
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing professional teams
  • Strong understanding of government funding and service purchasing frameworks in the health sector
  • Exceptional ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups, beyond traditional reporting lines

About St Vincent's Finance department

Primarily located at the Fitzroy campus, the finance department consists of financial accounting, accounts payable, revenue services, finance systems and strategic finance (finance business partners and analysts). This role reports to the Deputy CFO, leads the finance business partner team working closely with both finance colleagues and those in clinical directorates. The finance team is a friendly, driven, hard-working team which builds relationships with senior executives and contributes significantly to organisational strategy.
