The Suffolk County Legislature’s Budget Review Office currently has a need for a Legislative Analyst.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Salary Range: $67,077 - $103,878
OPEN COMPETITIVE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A)Graduation from a college with federally-authorized accreditation or registration by NY State with a Master's Degree and three years of experience in the analysis of programs, research, management, finance, personnel, policy, and/or budgeting, two years of which must have been in the public sector or government;
OR
B) Graduation from a college with federally-authorized accreditation or registration by NY State with a Bachelor's Degree and five years of experience in the analysis of programs, management, finance, personnel, policy, and/or budgeting, three years of which must have been in the public sector or government;
OR
C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by A) and B).
Additional Required Skills:
Ability to use and create spreadsheets, good written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking skills, the ability to interpret and explain data.
Location: Hauppauge
Schedule:
First Year: Monday – Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
After The First Year: Monday – Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm or 9:00am - 5:00pm
This Role Is A Provisional Appointment
A provisional appointment, which occurs only in the competitive class, is a temporary appointment to a position for which no eligible list exists or for which an eligible list exists with fewer than three candidates who are willing to accept the position. In order to become permanent, the employee who is provisionally appointed must take the next examination for the position in question. The appointment to the position is then made from among the three highest scoring passing candidates who indicate their willingness to accept the position. Civil Service law does not compel the appointing authority to choose the provisional employee should he or she be one of the three candidates
