Your impact

Thriving communities. A healthy environment. A brighter future. What we do is more than infrastructure, we work every day to make the world better for everyone. If you want to join a company invested in you, your success, and the global community, join us at our Spokane, WA office location as an Engineering Design Manager. If you are looking for a rewarding and stable career with an established firm that provides opportunities for growth and advancement, this is the place for you! You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a talented group of professionals in an open and friendly work environment, where personal and professional growth are supported, and contributions to the success of the firm are rewarded.

As an Engineering Design Manager (DM) you’ll collaborate with others as a leader/manager responsible for the technical production and delivery of infrastructure design documents. Your focus will be on client satisfaction, managing design delivery resources, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The DM's primary responsibility is to ensure that all aspects of an assigned design delivery project are completed successfully, on time, on budget, and consistent with contractual requirements. The DM achieves success by supporting, listening to, collaborating with, and managing the design team (including design team staff, and subconsultants/subcontractors).

The DM is a participant with Project Managers and the broader design team in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling, and performance. Additionally, the DM is responsible for monitoring and control of the design scope, the identification of schedule and cost variances, development and implementation of recommendations for corrective action for variances, and for proactive change management.

We value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery. We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work.
