Job Summary

As Materials Planning Analyst II you will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of material plans to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components to meet production and customer requirements.

Job Description

We are looking for a Materials Planning Analyst II. This position will be a full-time and onsite contract opportunity in Hampton, VA.

This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.

What You’ll Do

  • Review and analyze MRP (Material Requirements Planning) outputs to ensure accurate planning and material availability
  • Maintain material master data and planning parameters to support accurate system planning
  • Monitor inventory levels and flag shortages, delays, or excesses to appropriate stakeholders
  • Communicate with suppliers and buyers to follow up on material availability and delivery status
  • Support production planning efforts by aligning material availability with schedule requirements
  • Participate in root cause analysis of material shortages and assist in corrective action follow-up
  • Assist in preparing reports for KPIs and materials planning metrics
  • Contribute to planning-related continuous improvement initiatives, as assigned
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on routine planning tasks and smaller-scale projects

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in materials planning or supply chain support, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Excel and basic data analysis
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment with moderate supervision

Preferred:

  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts
  • Experience working with ISO/quality systems
  • Understanding of supply chain fundamentals and basic logistics concepts

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

The pay for this position is $42 per hour (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will include medical coverage as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
