JOB TITLE: Ongoing Product Development Engineer

LOCATION: Garland, TX

JOB DUTIES: Work with cross-functional partners on projects that involve cost, quality, performance enhancements, product certification and line extensions. This position has the following duties:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of our business and customers. Incorporate these perspectives to prioritize and initiate technical work
  • Lead design initiatives with the ability to manage multiple projects and complete work within agreed upon timelines
  • Bring innovative ideas for design enhancements, systems, or organizational processes
  • Use a science-based approach and knowledge from engineering disciplines to solve complex technical problems with practical solutions
  • Analyze, develop and implement holistic solutions, including exploring multiple concepts, supporting all viable alternatives with solid data and gaining cross functional support to implement recommendations
  • Evaluate impact of proposed changes on the entire system, including other processes, products, and materials
  • Build strong internal networks with other technical experts and delivery partners
  • Effective communication with all levels of internal and external customers and staff
  • Deliver data analysis, conclusions and recommendations as significant input for technical and business decisions
  • Responsible for providing design feedback to service, quality, or manufacturing partners
  • Develop innovative customer-focused design concepts and solutions
  • Deliver design solutions based on engineering principles
  • Technical documentation
  • Technical presentation

  • Cost reduction initiatives
  • Design for current manufacturing processes and key new initiatives

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering (or equivalent)
  • 12 months of work experience as a Mechanical Engineer or closely related occupation
  • Regarding work experience, must have experience with 3D CAD modeling, Formalized report writing and data capture, Control Charts, Fishbone, Pareto, PDCA, Stage Gate development, Manufacturing Process Tracker, Hallmark Window and Door Manufacturers Association testing, National Fenestration Rating Council testing, and American Society for Testing and Materials testing

SALARY: $74,984

PROFIT SHARING: In 2025 Andersen has set a profit sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
