Title: Collections Associate
Location: Tyson's Corner, VA
Pay: $55,000 - $60,000/Yearly

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up with tenants (residential and/or commercial) regarding overdue rent and outstanding balances.
- Initiate and manage collection efforts through phone calls, emails, letters, and in-person communication as necessary.
- Document all collection efforts and tenant communications in the property management system.
- Work closely with property managers and legal teams to escalate delinquent accounts and support eviction proceedings when necessary.
- Establish and monitor payment plans and ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local landlord-tenant laws and fair debt collection practices.
- Prepare regular reports on collections status, aging balances, and key metrics for management review.
- Assist with tenant account reconciliations and resolve disputes or billing discrepancies.
- Support month-end close processes by providing status updates on collections and bad debt reserves.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in collections, preferably in property management, real estate, or related fields.
