Position Description

At Applied Medical, precision and quality are at the heart of everything we do. As a First Article Inspector on our Metrology team, you’ll be an essential part of ensuring our medical devices meet the highest standards. This role offers the chance to work hands-on with advanced measurement tools and directly support engineering and machining teams in producing reliable, life-saving products. If you enjoy detailed work, working independently, and mastering metrology equipment, this could be the perfect fit. This position is on 2nd shift, Monday-Friday 2:30 PM-11:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect materials, tools, and fixtures to make sure they meet exact measurements
  • Use measuring tools like Keyence, Nikon systems, calipers, and micrometers
  • Record inspection results clearly and update reports
  • Help set up inspection equipment
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and GD&T standards
  • Work mostly on your own, following clear instructions

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma, technical trade school training, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Familiarity with metrology software, measurement equipment, and tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand measurements
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Preferred

  • Experience with measuring tools like Keyence or Nikon
  • Experience with designing fixtures or tooling in SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Experience drafting engineering documents such as Manufacturing and Quality Instructions, test methods, drawings, and test reports.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Gage R&R.
  • Proficiency in GD&T, tolerance stack up, and manufacturing processes for precision machined parts.
