Job Summary

We are seeking a talented, creative, and user-centered Product Designer to join our Product & Technology team. You will be responsible for designing intuitive, engaging, and effective digital experiences across our web and mobile platforms. Working closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in enhancing Alto’s product offerings and ensuring our services are seamless, accessible, and empathetic to the needs of our users.

Job Description

  • Lead the design process for Alto's digital products, from ideation through prototyping, testing, and final implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, etc.) to translate user needs into meaningful design solutions.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI designs, and design specifications to communicate design concepts and user flows effectively.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to ensure products meet user needs and deliver exceptional experiences.
  • Maintain and iterate on Alto’s design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the product.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and help develop a culture of design thinking within the company.
  • Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve design practices and enhance Alto’s product offerings.

A Bit About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Graphic Design, Interaction Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Industrial Design (if it aligns with the product focus), or Visual Design/Web Design.
  • 3+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful projects across web and mobile platforms.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • Experience with user research, user testing, and analyzing data to inform design decisions.
  • Familiarity with front-end development processes (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing healthcare-related products or services.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
  • Experience working in agile/scrum environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present and defend design decisions effectively to stakeholders.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for solving complex problems and designing products that improve people's lives, particularly in healthcare.

Additional Physical Job Requirements

Physical requirements for this role include the ability to work at a computer terminal with monitor, keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, and reach for equipment and supplies, make frequent repetitive motions required to operate a computer that include the wrists, hands and fingers, and lift, carry, push, pull, and move light objects up to 20 pounds. The role also requires the ability to effectively communicate through verbal interactions, discern auditory information, and visually perceive details to perform essential job functions.

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $128,000 to $160,000

Commission Eligible: No

Location Requirement: Employment at Alto is limited to individuals residing in the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington (WA), and Wisconsin.
