Koch Specialty Plant Services (KSPS) is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer Drafter with experience in pressure vessels, piping, boilers, and heaters to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will create technical drawings in compliance with industry standards, collaborate with project engineers, and ensure high-quality outputs for manufacturing and construction.

The primary work will be office-based, with occasional visits to shop floors or project sites as needed.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare detailed and accurate technical 2D drawings and 3D models for ASME pressure vessels and related systems using CAD software (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Collaborate with project engineers to translate concepts, sketches, and specifications into finalized drawings
  • Ensure drawings comply with ASME codes, company standards, and project requirements
  • Assist in developing and refining fabrication drawings, installation drawings, piping isometrics
  • Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions in accordance with document control protocols
  • Support the engineering team with design changes, redlines, and technical clarifications during manufacturing or construction phases
  • Stay updated on relevant codes, regulations, and best practices in pressure vessel design

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 3+ years of experience in drafting pressure vessels or similar equipment
  • Experience with CAD software such as Inventor, AutoCAD, or equivalent tools
  • Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) and related standards
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Associate degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software or tools
  • Experience with materials, welding, and fabrication techniques commonly used in pressure vessels and related equipment
