About the Role:

Job Summary

Our Graphic Designers work collaboratively and independently to develop creative concepts and visual designs that reinforce Northeast Georgia Health System as a leading, progressive, community-focused non-profit organization. They help build and shape an aesthetics that reinforces NGHS' award-winning tradition as brand that stands out among other healthcare providers in our service area and state, as well as the region and nation for key services. Mediums include print advertising, direct mail, outdoor, hospital publications, brochures and digital communications. Also coordinates the design process through production, including the bid process and vendor relations; works within and updates brand guidelines; and protects the brand from misuse.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications:
  • Educational Requirements: High School Diploma
  • Minimum Experience: Technical degree or bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field preferred -OR- five (5) + years of design experience supporting marketing for established brands

Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert graphic design skills – high level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Excellent creative concepting skills – develop designs and layouts that meet organizational approval
  • Skilled use of typography, fonts and color
  • Ability to successfully pitch and present concepts to internal stakeholders
  • Ability to independently prioritize projects and multi-task in order to meet deadlines within budget
  • Ability to change direction easily, readjusting priorities with a positive attitude through multiple revisions
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with many different personalities
  • Knowledge of innovative printing processes and ability to coordinate printing from start to finish
  • Ability to adapt rapidly to changing technology
  • A design portfolio that demonstrates an aesthetic and creative approach that aligns with the NGHS brand
  • Proactively learning to keep skills and industry knowledge current
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, PowerPoint

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate production of creative concepts and visual designs across mediums including print advertising, direct mail, outdoor, hospital publications, brochures and digital communications.
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with account specialists to gain design approvals and meet assigned deadlines for projects.
  • Coordinate the design process through production, including placement schedules and vendor relations.
  • Work within brand guidelines, suggest updates and protect the brand from misuse.
  • Successfully pitch and present concepts to internal audiences up to and including department leaders.
