Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges—the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place.

Your Impact

You will focus on delivering end-to-end operations transformations by deploying the proven transformation approach enhanced with standardized and integrated digital toolkits across functions.

In this role, you will interact with front-line operators to understand the real issue and identify tangible solutions. You will make an important contribution to developing tailor-made solutions by working closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results. You will provide oversight, problem-solving support, and practical industry expertise that will frequently involve facilitating on-site workshops, individual and group coaching, and change management sessions.

You will mainly work at client sites but will also help to develop/renew toolkits and levers in the hub when you are not on a client project.

There is flexibility to hire at the Senior Knowledge Analyst or Knowledge Specialist level, depending on candidate experience.

You will be based in Shanghai, China as part of our China GEM Technology Hub, Operations practice. Your work will be focused on Global Energy and Materials (GEM) industries, which include basic materials, chemicals and agriculture, electric power and natural gas, and oil and gas.

McKinsey’s Operations practice assists our clients in solving complex operational challenges. Blending strategic thinking with hands-on practicality, our teams of consultants and experts work to develop and implement operational strategies that solve our clients' most critical problems, particularly in the areas of manufacturing, purchasing and supply management, supply chain management, product development, service operations, and capital productivity.

You will be working with a unique blend of industry, functional and regional expertise to help client companies solve their most important and complex problems, delivering fundamental, measurable, and lasting performance improvement. You will work closely with our client project teams, providing end-to-end support to ensure clients are able to deliver and sustain the full benefits of McKinsey’s recommended change in their business.
