Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges—the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place.
You will work in a client team and play an active role in all aspects of the client engagement.
In this role, your responsibilities will include gathering and analysing information and developing and communicating recommendations. Over an 8 week internship period (which can be split into 2 x 4 week blocks), you will gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm and will receive on-going coaching and mentoring from colleagues on your team.
You will work with your McKinsey colleagues and with the client team, owning a distinct piece of the project. Some examples of the specific work may include interviewing clients, leading client teams, building financial models, creating and delivering presentations, and working with McKinsey subject experts to develop perspectives and insights for the client.
Coaching and mentorship will be an integral part of your development at McKinsey. You will receive ongoing support, peers will give you feedback and will help you grow and plan the next several years of your career and you will be supported at every stage of the application and interview process. You will also have the chance to connect with past internship and scholarship winners.
The support you’ll receive:
You will join in our Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Canberra or Sydney office as part of the First Nations Scholarship and Internship program. You will be part of a client project team, collaborating with colleagues and clients to solve their toughest business problems. The First Nations Scholarship and Internship is an opportunity designed to recognise talent and diversity within the Australian and New Zealand offices.
We believe in developing First Nations leaders who are passionate about creating impact. To support your personal and professional growth we are offering a number of paid consulting internship opportunities in one of our Australian or New Zealand offices, as well as a pathway for a full time role and the opportunity to receive a $20,000 scholarship.
When you join McKinsey as an intern, you are joining a firm that will challenge you and invest heavily in your professional development. You will have the opportunity to work on teams and help the best organisations in the world - across the private, public and social sectors - solve some of their most difficult problems.
Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues—at all levels—will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won’t find anywhere else.
