Job Description

The Event Operations Coordinator reports to the Director of McKenzie Arena and Event Operations and assists the Director with event management and operational tasks for assigned athletic, arena, and community events.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with Conference Tournaments and postseason events hosted by UTC
  • Implements and executes day-to-day and game day management strategies for assigned UTC events
  • Assists with the planning and game day management strategies for assigned events that focus on heightened fan experience and providing premier customer service
  • Assists with post-event review and assessment in an effort to improve operations and fan experience
  • Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to multitask, possess strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of event operations and arena/athletic equipment
  • Experience working in collegiate or professional sports, or with arena concerts/events/shows
  • Experience supervising event staff (Ushers, Ticket Takers, etc.)

Qualifications

Minimum: Requires a high school diploma and one year of relevant experience working in intercollegiate athletics, professional sports or events, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred: Experience working at an NCAA D1 athletics department in facilities, events, and game day management is preferred.
