Job Description

The Production Director - Creative and Live-Event will play a leadership role in the creation of content for use across multiple digital platforms, including both social media and game-day/video-board productions. This position is part of Chattanooga Athletics' Digital Media Services area but will also work closely with Marketing and Strategic Communications. 

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes creative content pieces that support the goals of the department of Athletics
  • Plans, produces, and edits video content for social media, website, and other digital platforms, as well as in-game videoboards
  • Works closely with the department’s marketing and strategic communications teams to ensure brand consistency and messaging alignment
  • Collaborates with coaches, student-athletes, and staff to create content that highlights individual achievements and promotes team success
  • Attends and covers department events, including games, press conferences, and special events
  • Assists Video Board and ESPN3/+ live-event productions
  • Opportunity to direct and TD, as well as fill in other positions as needed 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Knowledge of design, copy, video production trends, motion graphic design, and video editing
  • Ability to make creative decisions and meet hard deadlines on final copy, artwork, or videos
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate, discuss, and brainstorm productions with coworkers and/or departments
  • Strong management skills to keep productions on schedule
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

Qualifications

Minimum: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in video production, graphic design, or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in digital media production in a creative environment producing original, creative work with little supervision
  • Proficient experience in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Demonstrated ability of production from concept to execution
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Preferred: 

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • 2-3 years’ experience with digital cameras 
  • Experience in a college athletics setting
