Summary:
The Telecommunications Operator Answers and screens incoming telephone calls; follows through with appropriate action.
Responsibilities:
- Answers and screens incoming telephone calls; follows through with appropriate action.
- Pages authorized personnel.
- Monitors alarms.
- Responds appropriately to emergency signals including but not limited to fire, stats, and Code Blue.
- Distributes and maintains all pocket pagers.
- Provides hospital answering service and maintains an accurate on-call schedule
- Telephone Operations
- Emergency Codes, Medical Codes, and Maintenance Alarms
- Pocket Pagers and Overhead Announcements
- Answering Service and On-call Schedules
- Miscellaneous Responsibilities
- Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical Expertise
- Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
- Experience in healthcare is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
Education and Experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required
