Job Details:

Purpose

Perform advanced theoretical simulations and analytical modeling of nanoelectronic and cryogenic CMOS Qubit devices using semi-classical, quantum transport, and COMSOL phase-field methodologies. Guide graduate students and collaborate on proposal preparation and submission.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sophisticated theoretical and computational simulations of nanoelectronic and CMOS Qubit devices.
  • Conduct detailed process modeling relevant to cryogenic quantum device operations.
  • Utilize Green’s function techniques to create accurate analytical models for quantum transport.
  • Perform COMSOL Phase-Field modeling specifically tailored to quantum transport in cryogenic environments.
  • Mentor and guide graduate students engaged in computational modeling research.
  • Prepare and contribute to research proposals, technical reports, peer-reviewed journal papers, and conference presentations.
  • Additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline with a minimum of two years experience or at least four years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree).
  • At least one year of direct experience in analytical modeling and quantum transport simulations.
  • Proven expertise with specialized software tools used in nanoelectronic device simulation (e.g., COMSOL, Sentaurus TCAD, MATLAB).
  • Demonstrated experience with analytical modeling, cryogenic Qubit simulations, and COMSOL phase-field modeling.
  • Experience in research proposal preparation.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering with two
  • Minimum of one year R&D experience post-PhD.
  • Proven track record of authorizing peer-reviewed publications
  • Experience presenting research findings at internationally recognized technical conferences.

Salary Range

$59,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Onsite position predominantly focused on computational modeling and simulation in office/laboratory environment.
  • Often engagement in semiconductor laboratory and cleanroom settings, adhering strictly to established safety and cleanroom protocols.
  • Frequent use of advanced computational resources and specialized simulation software.
  • Often handling or exposure to standard hazardous laboratory materials requiring adherence to established laboratory safety guidelines.
