Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Assembler to engage in brazing copper to copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch. This role involves creating custom units by cutting piping to the required length and brazing them together as per customer specifications. You will work from blueprints and assist in assembling the housing for these racks. The position is physically demanding, requiring frequent movement, bending, kneeling, and twisting.

Pay: $20-21

Responsibilities

  • Perform brazing of copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch.
  • Cut piping to specified lengths according to customer requirements.
  • Assemble housing units for racks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints as needed.
  • Participate in general labor tasks, including bending, kneeling, and twisting.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in mechanical assembly and brazing.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Experience with hand tools and tape measures.
  • 3+ months of mechanical assembly, complex machine operation, or construction experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude demonstrated by previous experience.
  • Plumbers and entry-level welders are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in MIG welding on mild steel is a plus.
  • Experience repairing machinery or working on automobiles.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a large manufacturing building where units are built in teams of 3-4 people. The environment is fast-paced, well-lit, and clean, although getting dirty is common due to the nature of the work. The hours are from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. While there is no air conditioning, fans maintain airflow. Steel-toed shoes and long pants are required daily.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ramsey, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
