The Lead Engineer – Product Development plans and conducts activities to identify, define, and prove feasibility for innovative life inspired home cleaning product concepts. In this key role, the Lead Engineer will plan and monitor the Research & Development activities carried out by BISSELL and other suppliers’ technical staff. This Engineer will provide technical direction and communications on projects beginning with ideas and culminating in approved Basis of Interest documents which initiate new Product Development projects.

• Lead and use brainstorms, mind-mapping, research, and hands-on experimentation to generate ideas for new uses of technologies in home cleaning products. Solicit ideas from others within and outside of BISSELL and expand the ideas using traditional methods such as brainstorming, mind mapping and TRIZ & DFSS. Exhibit a passion for invention, including active curiosity, ingenuity and resourcefulness. Inspire a creative environment.
• Monitor the status of technical issues on assigned projects and communicate and coordinate activities as necessary to ensure project success. Produce and update written plans to facilitate project completion in a timely and useful manner. Follow appropriate sections of the Global Product Development process. Meet planned objectives.
• Establish the technical concept definition (PRSD) and plan and undertake feasibility studies necessary to support a Marketing “Basis of Interest” for assigned projects. Design, build, and test breadboards to answer specific questions, ensuring they are suitable to resolve feasibility questions. Apply scientific expertise to isolate and separate variables to clearly understand and test the subject phenomenon. Take ownership of assigned projects by setting challenging goals and driving the projects to proven (or disproved) feasibility and approved Basis of Interest documents. Take responsibility for resolving issues and questions.
• Develop preliminary product specifications needed for the product or technology to meet desired performance. Plan and coordinate the work of others, including test technicians, CAD designers, other engineers, and outside consultants to meet project objectives. Document learning and organize background information, including proof of feasibility, for delivery to Product Development.
• Develop test protocols as needed to reliably evaluate or quantify performance of new technologies. Cooperate with the Test Lab and comply with Test Lab processes. Review and analyze all test results to ensure product integrity and performance. Objectively and effectively evaluate performance.
• Cooperate with marketing and provide information needed to develop Marketing Concept documents (sketch, features, and benefits document) for market research. Clearly present concepts and findings to inform others of status and results of investigations. Properly tailor communications for the specific audience to effectively communicate within and outside the department. Initiate communications proactively. · Collaborate with cross-functional team to create and improve methods, equipment, and staffing. Evaluate outside firms and recommend appropriate project assignments to maximize the value of their capabilities to BISSELL. Control expenditures within planned spending.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 资格

• University degree or above in mechnical engineering or relevant engineering.
• Have solid knowlege & experience on the electrical tool/equipment development(consumer product /home appliance product prefered),with profient product insight.
• Have a professional structure/mechanical engineering experience
• Have VAVE background or experience will be plus
• Able to use Creo (Pro-engineering) software for design
• Minimum 6 years working experience in engineering area.
• Good skills in English communication
• Good analytical skills and Strong problem-shooting skills;
• Work independently and have high sense of responsibility
• A good team player
• Thorough and able to get a good overview of processes and act in a global context, familiar to Windrill/PDM link will be preferred
