Required Degree:

An earned Ph.D. in speech language pathology or related area is required.

The CCC is preferred. Salary and rank are negotiable, depending on qualifications.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:

  • A specialization in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Multilingual/multicultural issues, child or adolescent language, literacy, developmental disabilities, or complex communication.
  • We may consider other areas of expertise depending on the qualifications of the applicant.
  • Candidates should have a strong research orientation, the ability to mentor master's theses, and effective teaching abilities.

Duties/Expectations:

  • teaching (typically 15 credits per year, with a course reduction in year one)
  • research
  • mentoring graduate student theses
  • university service

The Communication Disorders Department at BYU has 12 full-time faculty and 6 part-time clinical educators. We offer a BS degree in communication disorders and an MS degree in speech-language pathology. All graduate students complete a thesis. The graduate program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
