Communication Disorders - CFS Professorial faculty position (tenure-track equivalent)

Required Degree:

• An earned Ph.D. in speech language pathology or related area is required.
• The CCC is preferred. Salary and rank are negotiable, depending on qualifications.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:

• A specialization in one or more of the following areas is preferred: speech sound disorders, child language, literacy, complex communication needs, augmentative and alternative communication, or aural rehabilitation.
• We may consider other areas of expertise depending on the qualifications of the applicant.
• Candidates should have a strong research orientation, the ability to mentor master’s theses, and effective teaching abilities.

Duties/Expectations:

• teaching (typically 15 credit hours a year, with a course reduction in year one)
• research
• mentoring graduate student theses
• university service

The Communication Disorders Department at BYU has 12 full-time faculty and 6 part-time clinical educators. We offer a BS degree in communication disorders and an MS degree in speech-language pathology. All graduate students complete a thesis. The graduate program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
