Procurement Specialist: Department of Nuclear Engineering - UTK

The Nuclear Engineering department invites applications for a full-time Procurement Specialist. Reporting to the Business Manager, the Procurement Specialist will provide responsive, technical knowledge and cost-effective skills to procure supplies, equipment, and services to support the research, instruction, and service mission of the Nuclear Engineering Department.

Minimum/Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with 3 years of accounting, procurement, or logistics experience.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred with three years of accounting, procurement, or logistic experience
  • Experience in an academic environment
  • Knowledge of State and federal contract and grant financial requirements.
  • Working knowledge of UT fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of financial applications such as SAP/IRIS/UT Marketplace
