- JOB SUMMARY
- MHSC is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our laboratory team. This position will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, preparation for send out testing, and delivery of samples to testing departments. This position will prepare laboratory specimens for designated departments and locations prior to laboratory analysis for both STAT and routine testing. The successful specimen processor will accurately perform data entry using the LIS (Laboratory Information System) and HIS(Hospital Information System), look up specimen requirements using an online directory, verify patient identification, communicate with customers and coworkers in a respectful and professional manner, work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions, provide customer education and information as needed, review test forms for accuracy and discrepancies, accurately identify and label specimens, pack and ship specimens, prepare and store specimens.
- JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent and must be at least 18 years of age (Must have a valid Wyoming driver’s license and a good driving record (less than 2 moving violations within previous two years, no alcohol/drug related violations on record with the Driver’s License Division.)
