Ivy Tech Bloomington is searching for part-time lab assistant for our to help with lab instruction in our Paramedic Science program. Positions would start in August. We are needing two positions filled.

Wages - Are based on the certification level of the applicant.

Paramedic = $35.85 / hr

EMT-Basic = $25.85 / hr

Essential Duties:

  • Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned training/skills in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active laboratory teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
  • Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
  • Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for labs and all learning environments.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

A qualified lab assistant in paramedic science meets all the following criteria:

  • Completed academic preparation appropriate to the program; and Holds an EMT certification or paramedic license; and
  • Only eligible to assist courses at or below certification/license level
  • Has two years of directly related work experience.
  • Indiana Primary Instructor (preferred)
