The Interprofessional Simulation Center supports the Indiana University schools of Medicine and Nursing, and the IU Health South Region including IUH Health Bloomington Hospital. The Center is accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare in Teaching/Learning, Assessment, and Systems Integration. Located in the Health Sciences Building on the Bloomington Regional Academic Health Center campus, it covers over 12,000 square feet of learning spaces with 7 simulation rooms, 7 debriefing rooms, 6 simulated examination rooms, and an apartment for community healthcare training. The Center utilizes a wide array of simulators including 14 full-bodied computer-controlled manikins ranging from newborn through adult.

Job Summary
- Manages activities and provides support to students and/or faculty in educational resource facility (such as laboratory, learning/technology center, testing center, etc.).
- Designs and develops learning experiences that support faculty and student education and/or development outcomes.
- Operates various instruments and/or machinery (some may be restricted from student use), assists students using permitted equipment, and provides instruction, training, and oversight for safe operation.
- Develops instructional and training materials for proper and safe use of the facility, various equipment, and/or tools as needed.
- Ensures and monitors compliance with various internal and external policies and procedures; ensures any certifications/accreditation or external relationships are maintained; makes recommends adjustments in policies, procedures, and staffing expectations as necessary to ensure compliance.
- Creates and provides reports on activities to measure operational success and to assist in resource and strategic decision-making.
- Performs other various administrative and operational duties such as ensuring security, adhering and monitoring budget, ensuring inventory of resources and materials as needed.
- Stays current and up-to-date by attending relevant training sessions/conferences, participating in related professional organizations, and researching emerging technology to improve operations and/or outcomes.
- Establishes and maintains collaborations with entities internal or external to the university.
- May provide guidance or oversee hourly staff.

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in related field)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 2 years in academic laboratory experience, related industry, and/or field experience

Working Conditions / Demands
The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

$55,000 - $62,000 annually
