The Sustainable Labs Intern will be responsible for helping develop internal sustainable lab programs for Indiana University laboratories. This intern will work closely with lab managers, faculty, operations staff, and EHS to create guidelines for more sustainable lab practices and research new ways to reduce the environmental impact of laboratories. This intern will gain hands-on experience in project management, program development, collaboration, communication, and more.

The employee must occasionally move items up to 30 pounds. A person in the role must be able to detect items both close up and far away.
At times, workload requires being in lab spaces, outdoors, or in high traffic indoor / outdoor campus spaces. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
Laptop / computer use (e.g. Microsoft Office and email) and cellphones are required. Occasional use of printers/copiers, university data and communication software, and office provided supplies.

This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between 4 remote workdays and 1 in-person workday), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
This student employee will be expected to work at least 1 day in the office for mentor and bi-weekly full team meetings.
$13 for undergraduate students; $15 for graduate students
10-20 hours per week
