Time Type: Part Time

Summary

The internship program grants students the opportunity to gain exposure to freight forwarding and supply chain logistics and apply educational knowledge towards work related projects. At the conclusion of the program, interns will obtain hands-on experience and a solid foundation of supply chain management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gain a working knowledge of applications and tools related to assigned functional areas; perform assigned tasks and project work with supervision; specific duties/tasks determined by department management.
  • Perform meaningful work in assigned departments.
  • Participate in projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
  • Assist in processing import and/or export transactions for clients.
  • Assist in processing bill of ladings and other documentation as needed.
  • Assist with all other general freight forwarder responsibilities with supervision.
  • Effectively communicate with DSV team and Human Resources of program progressions.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, such as the Code of Conduct, assigned work schedules, and attendance requirements.
  • Participate in midterm and final review check-ins.
  • Participate in final program evaluation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational background / Work experience

  • Undergraduate or graduate students currently pursuing an associate, bachelor's, or master’s degree from a 2 or 4-year college or university preferably Supply Chain, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, and/or any applicable degree.
  • General knowledge of transportation methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea or road.
  • General knowledge of geography.
