Duration: 12 Months Contract

Note: This position may involve travel up to 10% of the time (to Irvine, CA). Will have sufficient notice if this occurs.

Job Purpose

  • As an R&D Engineer, you will serve as a key contributor within the technical team, supporting the integration of an exciting new product acquisition into our corporate ecosystem. This role demands a meticulous attention to detail, advanced analytical capabilities, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong alignment with organizational goals and thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment where technical excellence, effective communication and cross-functional cooperation are key to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partnering with Quality, Process Development, Operations and other cross-functional team members to help execute project integration plans tailored to the unique needs of the product or site.
  • Works independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines.
  • Understands design deliverables and related quality system requirements in order to create compliant design documentation.
  • Analyses DHFs for compliance gaps and addresses the same through following activities:
  • Designs and coordinates standard engineering tests and experiments.
  • May train and/or provide work direction to test technicians
  • Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results.
  • Prepares reports/documentation to communicate results to technical community.
  • Partners with manufacturing in troubleshooting products/process problems as related to product integration.
  • Works cooperatively with other functions to ensure project success.
  • Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
  • Qualifications
  • 2 - 4 Years with BS in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering disciplines. Candidates with these degrees, along with other requirements, move to the top of list.

Additional Job Specific Requirements:

  • Medical device design and / or process experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a creative unbiased approach to problem solving.
  • Experience with design verification testing and reporting.
  • Proficiency in basic statistical methods for data analysis
  • Self-starting, independent thinker with strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with a risk-based design controls process to establish design safety and efficacy.
