Join the BMW Group and support the digital transformation of vehicle development processes. In this internship, you will contribute to the development of innovative algorithms to accelerate and robustify distributed design optimization frameworks. You will gain valuable insights into modern vehicle development and play a key role in shaping future projects.

What awaits you?

• You support the digital transformation and virtualization of overall vehicle development.
• Research and implement the latest mathematical concepts from non-linear programming to accelerate convergence towards optimal design.
• Explore methods to extend distributed optimization to non-convex problems.
• Develop strategies for parallel computing in distributed optimization.
• Be part of a dynamic team and gain insights into modern vehicle development.
• Bring in your ideas, gain valuable experience, and contribute to future vehicle projects.

What should you bring along?

• Ongoing master's degree in mathematics, computational engineering, informatics, or a similar field.
• Profound knowledge in mathematical numerical optimization and/or non-linear programming (mandatory).
• Ideally, practical experience in software development with Python.
• Very good English or German language skills.
• Independent and structured way of working with a high level of self-motivation.
