Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Lead to join their accounting/finance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in general accounting and financial reporting, with a strong understanding of reconciliations, fixed assets, compliance, accruals, audit, and reporting processes. This individual should also have a desire to learn the operational side of the business and contribute to daily accounting and financial functions.

This role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across departments and present financial information to stakeholders. You will work closely with the Controller and have opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
• Perform account analysis and reconcile all balance sheet accounts across all entities
• Assist with the daily operations of the accounting department
• Lead and mentor junior staff
• Support the month-end closing process
• Input journal entries, reconcile general and sub-ledger accounts, and prepare/review accruals and adjustments
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP
• Analyze monthly financial results and prepare reports for senior management
• Coordinate and assist with the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal policies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and budgeting processes
• Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures
• Perform ad hoc reporting and other duties as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience with a focus on general accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy
