Formulates/defines project and system scope and objectives through research and fact finding to develop or modify moderately complex health information systems. Prepares detailed specifications from which workflows will be built. Designs, builds, tests, documents, and maintains applicable applications.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Information Technology or related field and two (2) years of information technology or healthcare clinical experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Epic certification or accreditation. If not Epic certified or accredited, must obtain Epic certification accreditation within 6 months of hire. An Epic assessment will be given to those candidates who pass the initial review step of the interview process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Information systems and/or clinical experience in healthcare preferred. RHIA, CAHIMSS, CPHIMSS and/or other clinical certifications preferred.
Knowledge of clinical software applications. Knowledge of operational workflow processes. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Analytical and problem resolution skills. Interpersonal and customer service skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Ability to develop and/or implement policies, procedures, and processes. Ability to prepare reports and maintain records and documentation. Ability to obtain EPIC certification required.

Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, frequent exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, constant sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking.
