Job Title:

Epic Application Analyst Intermediate - DIS-Ambulatory

Job Summary:

Provides expertise and routine analysis in a specified area to ensure successful implementation of Epic software. Works collaboratively with information technology personnel, other Epic personnel, and users of Epic to provide operational support and to align and drive key electronic health records initiatives and programs.

Education & Experience

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in information systems, healthcare, or related field and two (2) years of information technology or healthcare experience or equivalent combination of information technology or healthcare education/experience. 

Certifications, Licenses or Registration required: Epic certification or accreditation. If not Epic certified or accredited, must obtain Epic certification or accreditation within six (6) months of hire. An Epic assessment will be given to those candidates who pass the initial review step of the interview process.

Preferred Qualifications:

Information systems experience in healthcare or related field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proven ability to be flexible and accomplish assigned work, both independently and in a team environment, in a high-pressure on-call environment with changing priorities. Shows initiative in proactively moving tasks/assignments forward.

Responsibilities

  • Determines requirements, designs, builds, tests, implements, maintains, documents and enhances business systems at small project level, ticket and Task level.
  • Develop test plans for small changes and Conduct testing to ensure systems and programs are tested and debugged.
  • Determines proper system implementation parameters, for smooth integration, transition and efficiency at small project and break/fix level. Analyzes, detects, identifies and corrects technical problems and deficiencies at small projects and break/fix level. Implements business continuity procedures.
  • Able to train customers on specific application issues and assists dedicated trainers in the development of training materials.
  • Submit documentation on issues, tasks performed, project statuses and other requests in timely fashion including actual resource hours used to complete the above.
  • Communicates and works effectively with team members, supervisors and customers.
  • Work with operational owners to support design and support development of new business processes.
  • Monitors Compliance of Internal Policies & Operating Procedures.
