Do you want to help Arm's partners build real world solutions based on Arm technology? This is an excellent opportunity to join Arm's Sales and Partner Enablement group as an Applications Engineer. Our partners scale from big semiconductor houses to small start-ups, all of them are building new exiting products. This role gives the possibility to be on the forefront of technological evolution and accelerate innovation.

Job Overview:

Applications Engineering is a technically focused role that combines engineering expertise with communication skills to help partners address complex challenges. This position primarily supports Arm IP and subsystem products targeting the automotive market.

You’ll work closely with customers to understand their goals, analyze technical issues, and deliver effective solutions. Over time, responsibilities may expand to include delivering training, reviewing customer system designs, and mentoring team members.

The role also involves close collaboration with internal engineering and product planning teams, providing customer feedback to drive product improvements. Additional tasks include reporting product defects, reviewing documentation, and creating technical content such as application notes, example code, and knowledge base articles.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and precise technical support to address customer questions.
  • Develop technical training courses for the solution products and deliver the training both onsite and remotely.
  • Perform SoC design reviews of customers' Arm-based systems and provide functionality and optimization recommendations.
  • Work with Arm design and product management teams to improve partners experience and influence product feature development.
  • Test product deliverables and provide feedback to design team prior to release to customers.
  • Develop tools and techniques to aid Application Engineers tackle problems more efficiently.
  • Mentor junior members of the team.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience in ASIC and digital system design or verification
  • Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog
  • Solid understanding of SoC architecture, particularly for automotive applications
  • Hands-on experience with RTL debugging, including post-silicon issues
  • Familiarity with Functional Safety (FuSa) concepts and processes
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python)
  • Effective, proactive communicator with excellent English skills (written and verbal)
  • Collaboration and proactive interpersonal skills are required.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or postgraduate qualification in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Arm CPU Architectures
  • One or more AMBA bus protocols
  • High speed I/O : PCIe, CXL, CCIX
  • Knowledges of ISO 26262 or IEC 61508
  • Experience in FuSa-compliant SoC design is a plus
  • Exposure to FMEDA or DFA is a plus
  • Understanding of SoC physical implementation and manufacturing principles
