Our current opening is for an Occupational Therapist Rehab Educator with Hartford Hospital, one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals in New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides cutting edge treatment to its patients. This is made possible by being home to the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulation training centers in the world. Position Description
In consultation and collaboration with Rehab leadership and the inter-professional healthcare team the Rehab Educator assesses, plans, develops, implements and coordinates learning activities to train, educate and develop Rehab staff. Functioning within the context of the framework of professional OT practice, the rehab educator is responsible for supporting organizational goals by ensuring role competence, best practice, and compliance with regulatory standards.
This is an experienced and advanced level position that provides clinical expertise to members of the department. Approximately 25% of time spent in a direct patient care capacity as an Occupational Therapist.
