Laboratory and pathology services are vital to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. With convenient patient laboratory service centers, home lab services, expert pathologists and in-hospital diagnostics, we offer the full range of testing services to the communities we serve.

SUMMARY:

The Histology Laboratory Assistant is responsible for assisting the histotechnologists in processing the slides for the pathologists. Registers surgical specimens in the LIS system. Performs preventive maintenance of equipment, reagents and documents on the applicable logs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Specimen Processing: Verifies IDs, processes specimens, organizes materials, and manages lab case workflows.
  • Equipment & Inventory: Maintains equipment, monitors conditions, and tracks supply levels.
  • Teamwork & Compliance: Supports team goals, attends meetings, and follows policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of six (6) months laboratory experience required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Computer experience required
  • Associates Degree preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
