Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for experienced Sterile Processing Technicians to join our Surgical Services team! All applicants must be CRCST certified prior to hire.

PRN - provide coverage during the week as needed

Summary:

The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of supplies needed in the operating room, inpatient floors, and all ancillary departments. Some responsibilities include biological and chemical monitoring; picking cases for OR procedures; assembly of OR instrument trays; operating equipment such as ultrasonic washer, and steam sterilizers, and perform other duties as assigned by director.

Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with decontamination policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of all steam and gas (ETO) sterilization policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Maintains a neat, clean environment.
  • Handles surgical instrumentation with care and is cognizant of the use and care needed.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of care and use of fiber optic scopes.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of care and use of all department equipment, i.e., ultrasonic machine, ETO machine, steam sterilizer, gas sterilizer, aerator, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of surgical instruments and techniques. Knowledge of sterilization techniques and monitoring. Knowledge of decontamination techniques and monitoring.
  • High School Diploma required
  • Certification in RCST Program highly preferred
