Job Title:

Lab Technician - PU Slab

Summary:

Job responsibilities will include - conduct routine lab operation to support the growth of Momentive’s PU Slab business in China region. Coordinate the safe operation of the CTC PU RD Laboratory, maintain state-of-the art equipment to support the daily operation and research work.

Responsibilities Include:

• Preparation and evaluation of various additives in PU Flexible foam application, those will be including silicone product synthesis, PU foam preparation, physical properties testing and performance evaluation.
• Conduct lab experiments for generating high quality & reliable data. Summarize and report experimental results/observation in lab notebooks. Protect proprietary information.
• Maintain lab equipment. Prepare and update technical documentation including JSA, MOC, SOPs and Calibration Record etc. to fully follow the company policy or standard.
• Support other CTC PU RD team members to execute capex project of lab related testing .
• Active Engagement in EHS management system and comply site EHS procedures and policies. Embrace a safety mind-set into day-to-day work.
• Drive safety initiatives, ISO, 5S et.al events in CTC PU RD team and participating internal or external EHS and quality audit.
• Ensure deeply understanding and strictly comply with company compliance policy.
• Other work tasks arranged by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

• B.A. in Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry/Science/Engineering.
• 1-3 years’ working experience in laboratory of the chemical company and demonstrated the ability to work independent in lab in a safe manner.
• Demonstrate basic understanding of polymer chemistry and conduct lab polyurethane foaming and testing work.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, with careful attention to detail and high level of initiative ability to be flexible and to work on multiple tasks at any given time.
• Good listening and communications skills
• Working knowledge of standard PC and Office 365 software operations.
• Polyurethane application experience or Organic synthesis experience is preferred.
• Experience in Surfactant application and characterization
• SAP experience is a plus.
