How you'll make an impact

Primary Focus of Role:

  • Provide guidance and assistance to account teams and clients using financial decision-making tools.
  • Conduct client-facing meetings when appropriate.
  • Speak effectively on behalf of the underwriting team regarding core services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data from carriers on clients and provide recommendations to account management teams or clients to negotiate rates and funding levels effectively.
  • Evaluate and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports measuring client financial status, tracking expenses by product line, renewal projections, funding levels, and rates to account management teams and clients when necessary.
  • Evaluate, assign, monitor, and peer review reports generated by underwriting team subordinates.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations, campaigns, communication materials, newsletters, etc., for internal staff and clients/prospects regarding underwriting policies and scope of services.
  • Act as a resource regarding industry trends and technologies for account service and consulting, new sales, and additional sales to existing clients.

About You

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3 years of experience in the employee benefits field in an underwriting capacity.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Degree in Math or Finance.

Behaviors and Skills:

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task to meet deadlines with quality and accurate deliverables.
  • Ability to maintain favorable relationships with clients, vendors, and other office staff.
