Responsibilities

Eastman is hiring a highly skilled technical specialist responsible for leading the design, development and optimization of chemical manufacturing processes and equipment. This role involves providing expert guidance on complex projects, driving innovation in process engineering and ensuring operational excellence at a commercial scale. The position requires deep expertise in chemical manufacturing, strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the design and development of chemical plant equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Provides technical leadership and mentorship to chemical engineers and cross-functional teams, ensuring high-quality project execution
  • Conducts advanced research and development to improve existing chemical manufacturing processes and develop innovative solutions
  • Oversees and guides personnel involved in constructing, controlling and improving equipment and processes on a commercial scale
  • Serves as an internal technical consultant on complex projects, providing expert recommendations and troubleshooting support
  • Analyzes process data to identify inefficiencies, risks and opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement
  • Ensures compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory standards across all project phases
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance and quality assurance to facilitate smooth process implementation
  • Interprets and applies the latest industry best practices, standards and technologies to enhance chemical manufacturing operations
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives to optimize process reliability, yield and environmental sustainability
  • Communicates technical information effectively to stakeholders at all organizational levels, including senior management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering required
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing environment required

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and innovate complex processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a leader within multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards and environmental compliance
