At Amazon's Customer Behavior Analytics (CBA), we're seeking a Principal Product Manager-Technical to lead our Marketing Measurement solutions during a period of dramatic expansion. Key job responsibilities

Business Impact & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with senior marketing and marketplace leaders to inform multi-billion dollar investment decisions
  • Translate complex technical concepts into actionable business recommendations
  • Build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups on measurement approaches and priorities
  • Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Define and drive the technical vision for marketing measurement solutions across Amazon's global marketplace
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness through ML/AI innovations
  • Develop multi-year roadmaps aligned with business goals and emerging technologies
  • Lead strategic planning and resource allocation across multiple workstreams
  • Ensure technical excellence in implementation of measurement methodologies

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts
  • Foster a culture of innovation, learning, and scientific rigor
  • Drive collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Recruit and develop top talent in data science and analytics

Program Management & Execution

  • Oversee implementation of measurement solutions across multiple marketing channels
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to track program success
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality insights and recommendations on schedule
  • Manage dependencies across engineering, data science, and business teams

Technical Excellence & Governance

  • Define technical standards and methodologies for marketing measurement
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and governance requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in measurement accuracy and efficiency
  • Stay current with advances in ML/AI, measurement technologies and model explainability

The Customer Behavior Analytics (CBA) organization owns Amazon’s insights pipeline, from data collection to deep analytics. We aspire to be the place where Amazon teams come for answers, a trusted source for data and insights that empower our systems and business leaders to make better decisions. Our outputs shape Amazon product and marketing teams’ decisions and thus how Amazon customers see, use, and value their experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of non-internship professional data science and simulation experience in a system engineering domain.
  • Masters degree in relevant discipline, engineering or science.
  • Hands on experience articulating model trade-offs and results analysis to business partners.
  • Hands on experience with R, Python, Jupyter and other data science and simulation tools, languages and technology.
  • Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering as part of cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment.
  • Scientific thinking and the ability to invent, a track record of thought leadership and contributions that have advanced the field.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
