The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. Position Summary: Within a 24-hour framework, responsible for the delivery of client care that promotes safety and well-being of all clients in the assigned department (s). To provide a healthy, safe structured environment; engage clients and families in a therapeutic alliance; provide therapeutic interventions as directed; function as an active member of the PATC staff. Assist with escorting clients within Bethel and outside of Bethel, when needed. Expected to be an active participant in client social, educational and therapeutic activities. Must be able to take direction and have a commitment to learning.

  • The position covers all residential facilities; Ayagnirvik Healing Center, Bautista, Crisis Respite Center, Decision Unit, Malone House, McCann Treatment Center, Morgan House, and Sobering Center.

Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED. Within a 24-hour framework, responsible for the delivery of client care that promotes safety and well-being of all clients in the assigned department (s). Assist with escorting clients within Bethel and outside of Bethel, when needed. Expected to be an active participant in client social, educational and therapeutic activities. Must be able to take direction and have a commitment to learning.

  • Substance Abuse Certification preferred. CPR, First Aid, and Non-violent Crisis Intervention is required within first 90 days of hire. A valid Alaska Driver’s License is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Basic computer knowledge, accuracy and dependability a must.
  • Ability to work residential treatment environments. Ability to write progress reports on clients, which accurately reflect client progress. Ability to read medication administration records. Ability to add and subtract money. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of rapidly changing situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to understand and apply to variety of instruction furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to appropriately respond to aggressive and violent client behaviors.
