The Financial Navigator Associate (FNA), under the supervision of the Director, Manager, or designee, in collaboration with clinic physicians, advanced practice providers, and/or nursing staff, provides effective patient financial clearance/ assistance to assigned patients in the Orthopedic/ Sports Medicine and Podiatry setting. The FNA serves as part of the Orthopedic/ Sports Medicine and Podiatry team, working with patients on coverage for surgeries, treatments, and procedures in the clinic, wound care, outreach, and hospital setting. The FNA reviews all inpatient and outpatient procedures, treatments, and surgeries to provide complete and accurate financial information and documentation. Verifies and pre-certifies patients as defined by payers. The FNA handles or represents customers of all ages. The FNA helps patients analyze the best health insurance/ self-pay options, considering their health concerns and financial situation. For patients with financial burdens, the FNA facilitates other resources such as foundation financial assistance and other support. The FNA works closely with the providers, vendors, clinical staff, pharmacy, coding and billing. FNA will maintain a detailed understanding of healthcare insurance policies, drug information, medical benefits, and medical terminology. The FNA will coordinate and communicate patient updates to care teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Minimum Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience
Three years of relevant work experience with a strong healthcare insurance background
