Controls (PLC) R&D Engineer
Your Department
You will be part of our Technology department where no two days are the same. We maintain and improve our current products and develop new solutions by working closely with engineering, supply chain and service, all driven by our customer needs. Our activities are based all over the world and each project is different. These projects improve the business of our external customers within Warehousing and Parcel markets with our scalable products like conveyors, transfers, diverts, curves, etc. Every one of our talented R&D engineers are committed to solving the next challenge and enhancing Vanderlande’s competitive position.
You will report into the Technology department and you will be a team member of the Case & Tote Equipment stream withing Development Center Distribution for important Warehousing and Parcel customers. The Case & Tote Equipment stream comprises several development projects for the dotM product line.
The Technology department is continuously improving the way of working to create as much value as possible in an innovative and Agile way of working.
Your responsibilities
Within R&D we are working on smart platforms to standardize the way of working for all Vanderlande solutions worldwide. We need you to elevate the platform standards and functions to the next level. The scope for the R&D PLC Controls engineer is delivering and testing software for controlling our equipment. This involves e.g. functionality to enter and exit our systems in a controlled way, algorithms for tracking and tracing, sorting and merging.
As a Controls Engineer you are responsible for designing, implementing, testing and maintaining high quality equipment control software running on a transport controller (PLC). You will need to translate requirements to software functions. During this process you will plan review meetings, deliver design documentation and create a test plan. When the complete functionality is clear you can start implementing you code making use of our software library. You will test and validate your code on emulated hardware and physical hardware in our Advanced Design Center. Once you are ready your solution will be used worldwide in multiple projects and you are responsible to support when required. Therefore, in this challenging role, you will be widely involved in all kinds of architectural, design, development and support activities.
Your qualifications and skills
You must have obtained a relevant technical degree or relevant Vanderlande experience.
What we offer
In the challenging and responsible position of R&D PLC Controls Engineer, we offer a salary range of 4.246 - 5500 euros gross per month excluding 8% holiday allowance.
