The Program Director for the Lang Medical Scholars Program is responsible for the ongoing development and overall implementation of a six (6) year longitudinal health science engaging local middle and high school students who are in the medical field. Responsibilities include program development, curriculum development, budget development, execution, ongoing assessment, hiring and oversight of staff, student recruitment and support and monitoring of student progress.
The Program Director works in collaboration with the Medical Director of the program. The position will report to the Office of Health Equity Diversity and Inclusion (OHEDI) and will be accountable to Medical School leadership. The individual will work with offices of OHEDI and other Temple University stakeholders. The work schedule will include working two Saturdays each month.
Essential Functions of Position
Executes the six-year curriculum in collaboration with the Medical Director to increase the number of Philadelphia School District students who successfully complete health science related academic tracks and pursue a profession in healthcare.
Experience and Education
Bachelor’s Degree and three or more years of directly related experience. Prior significant management experience related to Student Services in secondary or higher education. Prior experience in program administration. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities
This position allows for a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote).
This position requires a background check for routine interaction with minors.
