Point Wild is seeking a highly skilled Lead Cryptography Engineer to design, implement, and validate cryptographic systems that secure our platform, including emerging agentic AI use cases. This principal role requires deep expertise in applied cryptography, secure systems design, and experience architecting trust frameworks for autonomous agents and distributed intelligence.

Day to Day:

  • Design, develop, and evaluate cryptographic solutions including encryption schemes, digital signatures, secure key management, and authentication protocols
  • Lead the secure architecture of systems enabling agentic AI, including identity, provenance, and secure multi-agent communication
  • Implement cryptographic primitives and protocols aligned with zero-trust and decentralized trust models
  • Evaluate and integrate cryptographic libraries and hardware security modules (HSMs)
  • Collaborate with product, AI/ML, and platform teams to ensure secure deployment of autonomous agents at scale
  • Conduct threat modeling and risk analysis of AI-driven systems and autonomous decision flows
  • Stay current with cryptographic research, post-quantum developments, and AI-aligned security standards
  • Mentor junior cryptography and security engineers and contribute to developing internal security best practices

What you bring to the table:

  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field with focus on cryptography or information security
  • 7+ years of experience in applied cryptography or security engineering, with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, secure protocol design, and cryptographic verification
  • Experience designing cryptographic controls for agent-based architectures, LLM integrations, or autonomous systems
  • Expertise in systems programming (C/C++, Rust, Go, Python, etc.)
  • Thorough understanding of standards such as FIPS, NIST, ISO 27001, and regulatory implications of AI systems
  • Track record of building and scaling secure systems in cloud or hybrid environments

Bonus Points!

  • Experience with cryptographic systems supporting LLM autonomy, agent identity, attestations, and provenance
  • Familiarity with decentralized identifiers (DIDs), verifiable credentials, and zero-knowledge proofs
  • Published research or open-source contributions in cryptography, privacy, or AI security
  • Knowledge of secure federated learning, differential privacy, or privacy-preserving machine learning
