Main Purpose of Job
Responsible to safely monitor, document, and maintain targets necessary to ensure a quality product from forehearth to final packaging. Perform quality inspections both visually and dimensionally. Identify, isolate, communicate and document out of specification findings then correct the cause. Follow operational excellent framework i.e. (standard work, 5S, etc.) in order to ensure production targets are achieved.
Special Requirements:
Main Activities and End-Results Expected
1. Monitor and record temperatures on the riser and forehearth sections on a regular basis.
2. Adjust power and/or gas flow to maintain proper temperatures in the riser and forehearth section.
3. Troubleshoot process if quality parameters are not met and correct problem.
4. Weigh glass and calculate output to maintain a constant pull.
5. Perform job changes.
6. Adjust cutter and conveyors as needed to insure uninterrupted flow of tubing.
7. Adjust saw cut and glaze fires as needed to insure to good end quality.
8. Good housekeeping habits
9. Ability to train others effectively so they can pass CEO tests.
10. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
11. Consistent monitoring of quality parameters, both visually and dimensionally to ensure a quality product.
12. Follow the 4 C's outlined in the company policy - communication, commitment, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
13. Commit to the execution and evolution of continuous improvement and operational excellence objectives through process design, problem solving, knowledge sharing, and teaching others.

15. Maintain, adjust and oversee efficient operation of autopack attached to line.
16. Participates in standard work: Follow established procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in daily tasks.
17. Engages in 5S activities: Maintain a clean and organized workspace by sorting, setting in order, shining, standardizing, and sustaining.
18. Helps solve small problems: Identify and address minor issues that arise during work, using basic problem-solving techniques.
19. Other duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or (GED), on the job training.
Experience:
An equivalent combination of experience, education and training, which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities of this classification. Must successfully complete all required company training and certification before progressing to the next level of proficiency.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is regularly exposed to working near moving mechanical parts/equipment, airborne dust, hot molten glass, airborne glass particulate. The employee is exposed to hot and cold weather conditions, risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to loud noise in the work environment.
