Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for auditing the quality of Tube Drawing. Their quality checks document our quality process. The quality auditor performs periodic documented examination and verification of activities, records, and processes of the given quality system to determine the effectiveness and dependability of such system. The auditor monitors all quality standards for the manufactured products.

Main Activities and End-Results Expected

  • Ensure all quality specifications are met for any given product or procedure.
  • Communicates with employees to determine if job functions ar carried out with the aspect of quality in mind. This includes observing employees while using equipment— ensuring such equipment is functioning at top quality levels.
  • Track all audit reports and maintain such files.
  • Must be able to support a rotating shift plant in a 24/7 operation.
  • Communicate quality parameters to plant personnel and reports out of specification findings to appropriate personnel to ensure that production is conforming to customer requirements.
  • Verifies each shift’s production by physical inspection and observation that ware being produced meets the specifications as noted on the online SPC system and performs random audits of packed ware and other quality procedures such as histograms and audits to ensure that all glass being produced meets customer’s specifications.
  • Commit to the execution and evolution of continuous improvement and operational excellence objectives through process design, problem solving, knowledge sharing, and teaching others.
  • Follow the 4 C's outlined in the company policy - communication, commitment, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Exemplifies all safety, health and environment rules, company rules, regulations and ISO procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

Monday - OFF

Tuesday: OFF

Wednesday - 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Thursday - 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Friday - 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM

Saturday - 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Sunday - 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM

  • Eligible for OT pay
  • Shift differential

1 PM to 1 AM $.50 per hour

1 AM to 9 AM $1.00 per hour

Education:

High school degree or equivalent required

Experience:

  • Experience in quality preferred.
  • Work experience utilizing computerized systems in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Business Knowledge: General manufacturing concepts
  • Skills/Competencies: familiar with basic measuring devices and knowledge of gauges to guarantee that the customer receives glass that meets or exceeds their specifications.
  • Must have basic math, basic excel and reading comprehension ability.
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good people skills
  • Ability to handle fast-paced, flexible environment
