We have exciting opportunities for Inpatient, Outpatient, and Mobile Phlebotomists.

Hours will vary but will be 1st shift part time. Most likely working M-F 4 am to 8 am and every third weekend.

Phlebotomist/Registration: Working in a single assigned work area, provides specimen collection, registration and processing services to patients in the main hospital, outpatient lab draw stations, and mental health and skilled nursing facilities at off-site locations and clinics. High volume work, 50% of duties involve computer utilization with targets to meet. Provides clerical support to the Pathology Department and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma. Valid Michigan driver's license.
  • ASCP certification for Phlebotomy (must obtain certification within one year of hire) preferred.
  • Six months Phlebotomy experience STRONGLY desired, including experience from school.
  • Must be able to type 40 words per minute.

Must be able to work as early as 4 am for first shift. First month or so will be full time training on the shift you are hired for. Every third weekend is required to work and 2-3 holidays a year required. Driver's license and reliable transportation required for commuting to different locations as needed. About 50% specimen collection and 50% data entry and registration/computer related work.

Main Hospital Inpatient Phlebotomist

At the main hospital servicing inpatients, processing and registration of samples received from physician offices for testing.

Outpatient Health Park Phlebotomist

May be located at any outpatient draw stations around Grand Rapids; required to float to any health park when needed.

Mobile Phlebotomist

Travels daily between multiple nursing homes, corporate entities and residential facilities.
