Position Summary

In this Mechanical Engineering Internship role, you will be assisting the Development Engineering Team in the creation of innovative solutions in Aero Turbine Component Repair and Packaging Design. Tasks may include many aspects of design concept, mechanical analyses, mechanical drawings, material analysis, repair process documentation and manufacturing support.

Internship Duration: The internship is expected to run from August 2025 through December 2025. Please note that these dates are tentative and may be adjusted based on project needs or candidate availability.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop new designs for structures and hydraulic systems in the turbine package using fundamentals like free body diagrams, risk analysis, hand calculations and finite element analysis, working with assembly technicians and CAD designers and presenting designs in design reviews.
  • Review safety of the design and safety of the assembly, operations, and disposal of the design.
  • Learn what Codes, standards and regulations apply to your designs and ensure compliance

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering program.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check

Desired Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of related experience.
  • 3D CAD experience preferably with SolidWorks and/or Inventor.
  • Experience with various metal fabrication methods.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively document and present information to a variety of internal and external groups.
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude.
