The Opportunity
Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Hong Kong office is offering 3-month paid internship opportunities (Jan-Mar 2026 / Apr-Jun 2026) to graduate and post-graduate students who are interested in getting first-hand experience in a leading international arbitration practice in Asia.
Interns will work alongside our arbitration team and will be involved in a varied workload including assistance with current arbitration and other client work; arbitration-related research; writing papers and journal articles; production of arbitration-related internal know-how; and similar projects, giving you a chance to gain a real insight into the depth and breadth of our practice areas.
We are looking for self-motivated individuals with a demonstrated interest in arbitration and arbitration-related issues along with outstanding achievements in academic and extra-curricular activities. Candidates with strong research, organization and problem-solving skills with ability to deal and communicate efficiently with team members is preferred.
Qualifications: Applicants should be an undergraduate or postgraduate student not yet admitted to practice (civil or common law jurisdiction) and a demonstrable interest in international arbitration. Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Location: Hong Kong (The Landmark, Central)
Benefits: Interns will receive an internship salary and (where applicable) MPF contributions. We do not provide relocation support or accommodation and subsistence allowances.
Visas: You should hold a valid visa/permit to work in Hong Kong. Visa support will be provided to successful candidates.
